Berhampur, Apr 4: In a major push to support civil service aspirants, the Ganjam district administration on Saturday inaugurated a free coaching centre in Berhampur for candidates preparing for Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) examinations.

More Centres To Open Soon
Officials informed that two additional coaching centres will be launched next week in Bhanjanagar and Chhatrapur, expanding the initiative across the district.

A total of 170 aspirants, including 85 women, will receive free coaching across these three centres.

Selection Through Entrance Test

The candidates have been selected through a competitive entrance examination conducted by the district administration to ensure merit-based inclusion.

To enhance the quality of training, the administration has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a New Delhi-based coaching institute.

Officers To Mentor Aspirants
IAS, IPS, and other senior officers currently serving in the district, along with retired officials, will directly mentor and guide the aspirants, offering both academic and practical insights into civil services preparation.

‘Lakshya Niketan’ Vision
Ganjam Collector V Keerthi Vasan said the initiative, named ‘Lakshya Niketan’, aims to build a strong and inclusive ecosystem to nurture talent at the grassroots level.

“The vision of ‘Lakshya Niketan’ is to empower youth and produce capable individuals who can excel in civil services and other competitive examinations,” he stated.

The initiative is expected to significantly boost opportunities for aspirants from the district, particularly those from economically weaker backgrounds, by providing structured and quality guidance free of cost.
