Using ropes, earth-moving equipment, and coordinated manpower, the team carefully lifted the elephant out of the well. The operation was carried out with precision to ensure the animal was not injured during the process.
After being pulled out, the elephant was examined by veterinary staff and found to be in stable condition. Officials later guided the animal back towards the forest area to prevent further conflict with human settlements.
The incident has once again highlighted the growing challenges of human-elephant interactions in Odisha, where shrinking forest cover and open village wells often pose risks to wildlife. Authorities have urged villagers to cover or barricade open wells to avoid similar accidents in the future.
