‘DIE DIE DIE’ Note Not Enough, Says Family; Search for Chandrika’s Diary, Laptop Intensifies
Chandrika Probe Deepens Amid Claims of Missing Diary and Digital Evidence

Key Points

The mystery surrounding medical student Chandrika Hembram's death has deepened as her cousin claimed a larger personal diary she regularly maintained is still missing, while police recovered a pocket diary with the words "DIE DIE DIE."
Cuttack, Jun 9: The mystery surrounding the death of medical student Chandrika Hembram has deepened further, with fresh claims emerging about a missing personal diary and electronic devices that family members believe could hold crucial clues about the events leading up to her death.

It can be mentioned here that Chandrika, daughter of Bhaju Hembram from Udala in Mayurbhanj district, was found dead on June 4 after her body was recovered from the Kathajodi River near Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Setu in Cuttack.

Dispute Over Diary Raises New Questions
A new twist emerged after Chandrika's cousin Rashmita Hansda claimed that Chandrika regularly maintained a diary documenting her life and personal experiences.

According to Rashmita, police have stated that a diary recovered during the investigation contained the words "DIE DIE DIE." However, she alleged that the diary referred to by the police is not the same diary that Chandrika used to write in regularly.

Rashmita claimed that on the day of the incident, a small pocket diary recovered from Chandrika's bag contained the words "DIE DIE DIE," along with a date, a poem and Chandrika's nickname "Nupur." She said police had shown the diary to family members after seizing Chandrika's belongings and that she had personally seen it.

Family Says Main Personal Diary Still Missing
While referring to the pocket diary, Rashmita maintained that Chandrika's larger personal diary, in which she allegedly recorded details of her life, has not yet been recovered.

She said the contents of that diary could provide important insights into Chandrika's state of mind and circumstances before her death. According to her, many unanswered questions surrounding the case may become clearer if the diary is traced.

Laptop, Tablet And iPad Also Under Scrutiny
Rashmita further alleged that Chandrika's laptop, tablet and iPad were in the possession of her male friend, Bhimsen Prasad Tudu.

She claimed the devices contained photographs, videos and records related to Chandrika's personal life and relationship with Bhimsen, and said police should locate and examine them as part of the probe.

The family believes that data stored in the electronic devices could help investigators establish a clearer timeline and understand the nature of Chandrika's interactions in the period preceding her death.

Love Triangle
Rashmita further alleged that Bhimsen had developed a relationship with a woman from Bhadrak named Swati and frequently taunted Chandrika over her dark complexion. Bhimsen repeatedly belittled Chadrika by comparing her to Swati. According to her, Bhimsen increasingly distanced himself from Chandrika as he grew closer to Swati. In a bid to win back his affection, Chandrika had even undergone skin-lightening treatment through injections, Rashmita claimed.

Crucial Call Recording
The latest claims come days after phone recordings and chat messages surfaced, indicating strain in Chandrika's relationship with Bhimsen.

Messages reportedly sent by Chandrika to her mother suggested she wanted her family to contact Bhimsen's relatives and consider legal action. An alleged phone conversation that surfaced earlier also appeared to indicate tensions between the two.

The authenticity of the recordings, chats and recent claims regarding the diary and electronic devices has not been independently verified, and police have not publicly commented on their evidentiary value yet.
