Redhakhol, Aug 8: Former Union Minister and Sambalpur MP Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday unveiled a vision for the holistic development of Redhakhol area in Odisha, stressing the need for improved infrastructure, agricultural diversification, and responsive governance.

Speaking at the foundation stone-laying ceremony of a Kendriya Vidyalaya campus here, Pradhan urged officials to prepare a comprehensive list of villages lacking electricity and mobile towers within 15 days.

The BJP MP pledged that within 12 months, all villages in the region would relate to roads and electricity. “Administration must act sensitively and proactively, before people are forced to submit petitions,” Pradhan said, calling for governance that anticipates public needs.

Pradhan also emphasized agricultural development, urging farmers to diversify beyond paddy cultivation and adopt sustainable practices. “Redhakhol’s farming potential must be harnessed for multiple crops. This vision must be implemented within a year,” he said.

The senior BJP leader reiterated his commitment to Odisha’s dignity and development. “In my 12 years as a Union Minister, I have never compromised Odisha’s honour. I will never undertake any action that diminishes the pride of 4.5 crore Odias,” he asserted.

He added that Bhima Bhoi remains a timeless source of inspiration for all.

Pradhan also joined students, intellectuals, environmentalists, and local residents in Redhakhol to plant saplings under the “Maa Pain Gachatie” (A Tree for Mother) campaign.
