Bhubaneswar, Aug 7: Former Union Minister and Sambalpur MP Dharmendra Pradhan on Friday received an overwhelming reception during his visit to Anugul, Hindol, Athmallik and Athgarh in Odisha. From flower showers and traditional hulhuli to massive public gatherings, the BJP leader was greeted with affection and respect, underscoring his enduring connect with common people across the state.

Athgarh: A Sea of People

At NH-55 Khuntuni, under the leadership of senior BJP leader Abhaya Barik, thousands thronged the streets. Flower showers, giant garlands lifted by cranes, and chants of welcome marked Pradhan’s entry. In a touching moment, he accepted flowers from a differently-abled person, symbolising his humane approach.

Hindol: Direct Connect with People

At Hindol’s Gudia Kateni square, MLA Seemarani Nayak and party workers led the celebrations. Pradhan stepped out of his vehicle to mingle with the crowd, receiving uttariyas and bouquets directly from locals, reinforcing his reputation for accessibility.

Anugul: Humanity on Display

In Anugul, locals lined the roads with floral greetings. At Barakera square, Pradhan halted his convoy to allow ambulances to pass, drawing praise for his sensitivity. He also visited temples and interacted with villagers, listening to their concerns.

Athmallik: Development and Tradition

At Athmallik College square, Pradhan inaugurated several development projects including roadworks, street lighting, and temple restoration. In Tangianisha village, he walked through the lanes, engaging with residents about their daily lives. His grassroots style won admiration, especially from women who expressed joy at his assurances of local development.
