Argus News - Dharmendra Pradhan Launches Zoho Skill Hub and Wisdom on Wheels at VSSUT

Sambalpur, Apr 15: Union Education Minister and Sambalpur MP Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated the Zoho Skill Hub and launched Paytm’s Wisdom on Wheels at the Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), Burla campus. He also felicitated the university’s top innovators during the event.

“The Zoho Skill Hub is not just a training centre but a complete ecosystem. With state-of-the-art classrooms, offices, and facilities, students will gain real-world workplace experience,” Pradhan wrote on X.

“Those who demonstrate their skills will have direct employment opportunities through Zoho’s partner network, both in India and abroad,” he added.

Highlighting the importance of skill-based learning, Union Minister Pradhan noted, “In today’s changing world, merely holding a degree or certificate is not enough; skill-based education is the true identity. Burla has always emphasized practical, work-oriented learning as a centre of applied education.”

“With the collaboration of global companies like Zoho, engineering and non-engineering students of Sambalpur will now gain expertise in advanced technologies, empowering them to transform into job creators rather than just job seekers,” he said.

As part of its social responsibility initiatives, the Paytm Foundation, in collaboration with VSSUT, launched ‘Wisdom on Wheels’. “This modern mobile bus will travel across villages, providing digital and financial literacy to school students and local communities. The effort will empower people while promoting digital payment models at the grassroots level,” explained the Union Education Minister.

He further described Sambalpur as “a major education cluster, home to leading universities.” By combining VSSUT’s technical expertise, VIMSAR’s medical sciences, Sambalpur University’s biotechnology, and IIM’s management skills, Dharmendra Pradhan emphasized the goal of building a multi-disciplinary education system and a startup-driven economy.

He also pointed to collaborations with IIT Madras for curriculum modernization and IIT Kanpur for sustainable urban development, which he believes will transform Burla into a global hub of knowledge and employment generation.

Additionally, Union Minister Pradhan laid the foundation stone for a Training and Placement Building and a Sports Complex at VSSUT. “This new project will not only provide advanced technical training and employment opportunities for students but will also support their physical development and enhance their sporting talents,” he wrote on X.
