The MP underlined the immense contribution of western Odisha to the growth of Odia language and literature. He recalled the role played by Bamanda ruler Basudev Sudhal Dev, celebrated poet Gangadhar Meher, and spiritual leader Chandrasekhar Meher, whose contributions enriched Odisha's cultural landscape.

Pradhan further said Kuchinda has consistently made notable contributions to significant social and historical movements, including the movement for the formation of Odisha, the country's freedom struggle, and various social reform initiatives.

Calling Nuakhai Bhetghat a platform for social harmony, he said the festival brings together families, friends and communities, fostering a spirit of unity, mutual respect and brotherhood. Such occasions, he added, help preserve traditional values while strengthening social cohesion in contemporary society.

The programme witnessed participation from cultural enthusiasts, local residents and members of the Kala Parishad, who came together to celebrate the spirit of Nuakhai and the region's vibrant cultural heritage.
