Weather Update / Cyclonic Storm To Bring Heavy Rain Over Odisha Till October 29

Bhubaneswar, Oct 24: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday issued a series of weather warnings for Odisha as a low-pressure area over the southeast Bay of Bengal is expected to intensify into a cyclonic storm by October 27.
The system, currently moving west-northwestward, is
predicted to bring widespread rainfall, thunderstorms, and gusty winds across
the state through October 29.
Cyclonic Storm Brewing Over Bay of Bengal
According to IMD, the low-pressure system will likely evolve
into a depression by October 25, a deep depression by October 26, and a
cyclonic storm over the southwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal by
the morning of October 27. The system is being closely monitored for further
intensification.

District-Wise Rainfall Warnings
October 27: IMD has issued a Yellow Warning for heavy rain and thunderstorms with gusty winds (30–40 kmph) in districts including Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Ganjam, Gajapati, Nayagarh, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Koraput, and others.

✨October 28: An Orange Warning has been issued for Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Puri, Khurda, and Ganjam, while a Yellow Warning covers Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Boudh, Nayagarh, and several northern districts.
October 29: IMD has placed Balasore, Mayurbhanj, and Bhadrak under Orange Warning, with Jajpur, Keonjhar, Kendrapara, and Jagatsinghpur under Yellow Warning.
Advisory for Public and Authorities
The IMD said the sea condition is likely to be moderate to rough over along and off Odisha coast from October 26. It is likely to become rough to very rough on 27th and very rough to high from 28th till 29th October.
Fishermen have veen advised not to venture along and off Odisha coast from October 26 on onwards.
The State government has directed the district administrations to prepare for waterlogging, power outages, and crop damage in vulnerable zones.
