Bhubaneswar, Nov 23: The low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal has now intensified into a well-marked low-pressure system, said the Indian Meteorological Department.

The system has further consolidated into an active cyclonic circulation, raising concerns of a possible cyclone formation, stated the IMD.

According to forecasts, the system is likely to strengthen into a depression by tomorrow. As it continues to organise and intensify over the southeast Bay of Bengal, meteorologists warn that it may develop into a cyclonic storm in the coming days.

The IMD is closely monitoring the situation, as the evolving system could bring heavy rainfall, strong winds, and rough sea conditions to coastal regions.

Fishermen have been advised to avoid venturing into the sea, and authorities are preparing for possible emergency measures.

Officials note that the system’s trajectory and intensity will be clearer once it consolidates further, but early warnings have been issued to ensure preparedness in vulnerable coastal districts.
