Durga Puja / Security Beefed Up For Dussehra In Cuttack

Cuttack, Sep 28: In preparation for the upcoming Durga Puja and immersion festivities, the Cuttack Commissionerate Police has undertaken extensive measures to ensure peace and order throughout the city.
Chaired by Police Commissioner, a high-level coordination meeting was held at Barabati Stadium. Cuttack DCP, senior police officials, and all other personnel were also present in the meeting.
To manage the large crowds and maintain security, the city will be fortified with 122 platoons of police force, 600 police officers, two companies of Central Armed Police Forces.
CCTV and drones will also been installed across key locations in the city.

Special attention will be given to mandaps displaying gold and silver idols, where armed police personnel will be deployed, said a senior official.
The Police Commissioner has issued directives focusing on:
- Enhanced protection for women and children visiting pandals
- Strict traffic management to prevent congestion
- Close coordination with mandap organizers for smooth conduct of rituals and immersion processions
These proactive steps aim to ensure that the festive spirit of Durga Puja and the immersion ceremonies are celebrated with harmony and discipline across Cuttack.
