Police also released a photograph of a youth identified as a suspect in the investigation.

Student Missing Since March

The missing student was identified as Bhagyashree Mishra, 17, a resident of Antapursasan village under Khaira police station limits in Odisha's Balasore district. She is a student of KIIT University in Bhubaneswar.

According to the Commissionerate Police, Bhagyashree has been missing since March 9, 2026. The case remains under investigation as police continue efforts to locate her.

Police Release Photograph of Suspected Person
As part of the ongoing investigation, police released the photograph of Akash Mishra, a resident of Nuapur village in Sashang panchayat under Balasore Sadar police station limits.

Police identified Akash Mishra as a suspected person in the case.

Reward Announced for Credible Information
To encourage public participation in the search, the Commissionerate Police announced a cash reward of Rs 50,000 for anyone providing information that leads to tracing the missing student.

Police appealed to members of the public to immediately share any credible information regarding Bhagyashree's whereabouts or movements by contacting the investigation team on 7008251013 or 9658986827.

The Commissionerate Police assured that the identity of informants and the information they provide will be kept strictly confidential.
