Ghatshila, Nov 4: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is set to lead an intensive campaign Tuesday in support of BJP candidate Babulal Soren for the upcoming by-election in the Ghatshila constituency of Jharkhand.
The seat fell vacant following the demise of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) MLA Ramdas Soren, who had defeated Babulal Soren in the 2024 Jharkhand Assembly elections by a margin of 22,446 votes.
With the bypoll drawing significant attention, CM Majhi will
participate in a marathon campaign across East Singhbhum district. A massive
public rally is scheduled in Dompada, where the Chief Minister will address the
gathering and seek support for the BJP candidate. The event will also feature a

✨Later in the day, CM Majhi will attend another public meeting in Gudabandha, continuing his outreach efforts to consolidate voter support. The BJP is banking on the Odisha Chief Minister’s popularity and leadership to turn the tide in its favour in this crucial contest.
The Ghatshila by-election is being closely watched as a litmus test for both BJP and JMM ahead of the next assembly elections. With the seat previously held by JMM, the outcome could influence political momentum in the region.
Party workers and supporters have mobilized in large
numbers, and security arrangements have been tightened to ensure smooth conduct
of the campaign events. The BJP hopes that CM Majhi’s presence will boost voter
confidence and swing the constituency in its favour.
