Khordha, Apr 8: Odisha has taken another giant leap in industrial development with the foundation stone laying and inauguration of 36 major industrial projects worth ₹40,811 crore at Bhuinpur of Begunia region in Khordha district.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi presided over the landmark event, calling it a new chapter in the state’s “Golden Journey of Prosperous Odisha.”
Out of the 36 projects, 25 were inaugurated while 11 had their foundation stones laid, marking the beginning of what the Chief Minister described as Odisha’s second industrial revolution.
The projects are expected to generate over 59,000 employment opportunities, significantly boosting the state’s economy and job market.

Diverse Industrial Portfolio
The projects span across multiple sectors including green energy equipment, metals and downstream industries, textiles and apparel, plastics, tourism, agriculture and food processing, defence manufacturing, IT, automobiles, and cement production.
Spread across different districts, these ventures are expected to accelerate Odisha’s economic growth and reduce dependence on imports, with locally manufactured goods entering global markets.

✨Addressing a public gathering, CM Majhi said: “Odisha is no longer just a state of possibilities but is now experiencing the touch of prosperity.”
“In the past 20 months, the government has facilitated investments worth ₹2.5 lakh crore across 109 projects, creating 1.76 lakh jobs. The latest round of investments adds another ₹40,000 crore and 59,000 jobs, reinforcing Odisha’s commitment to industrial expansion,” CM Majhi highlighted.
The Odisha CM assured industrialists of full government support, promising land, electricity, water, connectivity, and timely approvals. He invited entrepreneurs to directly approach his office for resolution of issues, underlining the administration’s proactive approach to industrial facilitation.
Roundtable with Industrialists
The event also featured a roundtable meeting with leading industrialists from across India, where the Chief Minister reiterated his government’s pledge to provide all necessary infrastructure and support.
“Odisha’s industrial ecosystem is being built to be diverse, stable, and future-ready, aligning with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat,” stressed CM Majhi.
Infrastructure Push
CM Majhi pointed out that the current state budget has allocated over ₹72,000 crore for infrastructure, amounting to nearly 6.5% of Odisha’s GDP. This investment “will accelerate infrastructure development and create new employment opportunities”, further strengthening the state’s economic foundation.
The Chief Minister concluded by stating that Odisha is on
track to emerge as a fully prosperous state within the next decade, with
industrial growth and Odia identity forming the twin pillars of development.
