Bhubaneswar, Apr 1: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for extending warm wishes to the people of Odisha.
In his public message, Majhi acknowledged the Prime Minister’s long-standing association with the state and praised his reflections on the cultural similarities between Gujarat and Odisha, particularly the Sun Temple and Rath Yatra traditions.
Majhi noted that Modi’s personal experience of participating in the Pahandi ritual during the Ahmedabad Rath Yatra symbolized the cultural unity between regions. He emphasized that such recollections strengthen Odisha’s pride in its civilizational heritage.
The Chief Minister also lauded the Union Government’s support for Odisha’s development under Modi’s leadership. He highlighted the record railway allocation of ₹10,600 crore for 2025–26 and port-led development projects, which aim to transform Odisha into a leading maritime and industrial hub. Majhi further welcomed Modi’s appreciation of the Subhadra Yojana, designed to empower over one crore women and create Lakhpati Didis, thereby enhancing women’s role in socio-economic progress.

Looking ahead to the centenary of Odisha’s statehood, Majhi reaffirmed his government’s commitment to preserving Odia identity, language, and culture. He pledged to work collectively towards the Prime Minister’s vision of “Developed Odisha for a Developed India.”
Concluding his message, Majhi invoked the blessings of Lord Jagannath for Odisha’s continued prosperity and growth.
