Bhubaneswar, Sep 20: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai began his two-day visit to Odisha on Sunday, with a possible discussion on the long-standing Mahanadi water dispute on the agenda.

According to official sources, CM Sai is scheduled to arrive at the Biju Patnaik International Airport, Bhubaneswar at 11.55 a.m. and will meet Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi at his official residence here later in the day.

The meeting between the two leaders is expected to touch upon inter-state water-sharing concerns, particularly the contentious Mahanadi issue that has often strained relations between Odisha and Chhattisgarh. Officials said that the dialogue could pave the way for renewed cooperation and a framework for resolution.

Following his political engagements, CM Sai will pay obeisance at the historic Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar. In the evening, he will travel to Puri and offer prayer at Shree Jagannath Temple.
