Bhubaneswar, Oct 14: The Commissionerate Police on Tuesday released the poster of a man, who was brutally murdered by being bludgeoned with stones.

A gruesome murder was reported from Chandrasekharpur area of Bhubaneswar.

According to reporrs, the police officials are facing a major challenge in identifying the victim, whose face was completely disfigured in the attack. To aid the investigation, the police have released a public poster featuring available details and are seeking help from citizens to identify the deceased.

In a bid to encourage public cooperation, the Commissionerate Police have announced a Rs 25,000 cash reward for anyone who can provide credible information about the victim’s identity.

The use of posters is part of a broader strategy to gather leads in the absence of facial recognition, which has been rendered impossible due to the extent of the injuries.
