CBI arrests EMRS Principal Krishnamurthy Naidu in Nuapada for allegedly accepting ₹12,000 bribe in a job scam. The case raises questions on corruption, harassment, and accountability in educational institutions.

Nuapada, Oct 8: A major development has emerged from Odisha’s Nuapada district, where the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested EMRS Principal Krishnamurthy Naidu on allegations of bribery.

According to reports, Naidu was caught red‑handed while allegedly accepting ₹12,000 from a woman in exchange for a job promise. The total demand was said to be ₹20,000. Acting on a complaint, the CBI laid a trap and apprehended him during the transaction.

Naidu, who previously served as Principal at an Eklavya Model Residential School, was appointed to the EMRS institution earlier this year in January after retirement. His arrest has sparked serious questions about corruption in educational institutions and the misuse of authority.

Sources indicate that beyond bribery, there are also allegations of harassment and inappropriate behaviour towards staff, which may now come under independent investigation. The case has raised concerns about accountability in government‑run schools and the need for stricter monitoring of recruitment practices.

With the arrest, attention now turns to the next steps in the investigation. Authorities are expected to probe whether more irregularities surface and what legal action will follow against the accused officer.
