Cuttack, Oct 22: Excise officials arrested two individuals from Barabati Chhak here in Odisha for allegedly possessing brown sugar, officials said on Wednesday.
The accused have been identified as Jagannath Das and Raunak Dubey.
Acting on a tip-off, officials from the Central Excise
Intelligence Division of Cuttack seized 160 grams of the narcotic substance
from the accused duo. The estimated market value of the seized brown sugar is
approximately Rs17 lakh.

In addition to the brown sugar, a motorcycle believed to have been used for transportation was also seized. Both individuals have been formally charged under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. Further investigation is underway.

enforcement agencies in combating drug trafficking. The Central Excise team
remains committed to dismantling narcotic networks and ensuring public safety.
