Meanwhile, in Cuttack district, another drowning was reported when a man slipped into deep waters while bathing in the Mahanadi River. Eyewitnesses said the victim was part of a group that had gone to wash off colours after the festivities. Rescue teams later recovered the body.

Police officials stated that all three incidents occurred shortly after Holi celebrations concluded in the respective areas. They urged citizens to exercise caution while bathing in rivers, particularly during festive occasions when large gatherings often lead to negligence. “We appeal to people to avoid risky spots and ensure safety measures are followed,” an officer said.
