Amit Shah’s Odisha Visit: Traffic Restrictions announced in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack

Bhubaneswar, Mar 4: The Commissionerate Police of
Bhubaneswar-Cuttack has announced traffic restrictions across key routes in
both cities on March 5 and 6, coinciding with Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s
two-day visit to Odisha, officials said on Wednesday.
Shah is scheduled to arrive in Bhubaneswar around 8 PM on Thursday and will remain in the city overnight.
On Friday, Shah will lay the foundation stone for the
National Forensic Science University (NFSU) and the Central Forensic Science
Laboratory (CFSL) campus at Jatni in Khordha district. He will also virtually
inaugurate the NFSU transit campus in Bhubaneswar and open an exhibition on new
criminal laws in the state capital. Later in the day, he is expected to launch
several projects related to cooperation and other departments, before attending
a CISF event at Mundali in Cuttack.

To facilitate smooth movement, police have issued a notification detailing traffic curbs. On March 5, restrictions will be in place between 8 PM and 8.45 PM at Airport Square, Capital Hospital Square, AG Square, Lok Bhavan Square, Power House Square, 120 Battalion Square, Shastri Nagar Square, Behera Sahi Square, Jaydev Vihar Square, and XIMB Square.

On March 6, traffic will be regulated between 9.45 am and 10.35 am at Jaydev Vihar Square, XIMB Square, Nalco Square, Damana Square, Patia Square, KIIT Square, Nandankanan Square, Baranga Golel, Puri Canal, Godisahi Canal Chhak, and CISF KRTC in Mundali, Cuttack.
Additional restrictions will apply from 4.30 PM to 5 PM and again from 6.30 pm to 7 PM at
major junctions including Airport Square, PMG Square, Rabindra Mandap Square,
Housing Board Square, and Ram Mandir Square.

Police Commissioner S.D. Singh clarified that emergency vehicles such as ambulances and fire services will be exempt from the restrictions. Citizens have been urged to avoid the specified routes and opt for alternate roads during the notified timings.
