Berhampur, Mar 9: Tension prevailed in Odisha’s Berhampur after crude bombs were allegedly hurled at the residence of a lawyer late on Sunday night.

According to reports, the incident took place at around 10:30 PM when a group of four to five assailants hurled bombs at the residence of lawyer Mahesh Tripathi in Shantimarg area under the jurisdiction of Badabazar Police Station.

Soon after the incident, the attackers fled immediately.

CCTV footage of the incident, which shows the armed men creating chaos, has gone viral on social media.

On being informed, police rushed to the spot and launched an investigation based on the footage. A case has been registered and the police personnel are working to identify the culprits.

The attack left Tripathi’s wife Kamal Kumar Nayak and his father injured. They are currently receiving medical treatment.

Eyewitness accounts and preliminary police reports suggest that nearly nine individuals were allegedly involved in the attack.

Authorities have assured that strict action will be taken against those responsible, and security has been tightened in the area to prevent further disturbances.
