Brahmapur, Sep 19: Panic gripped the Lakshmi Nrusingha Sahi area under Bada Bazar Police Station here late Thursday night after unidentified miscreants hurled a bomb at the residence of Ward No. 9 Corporator Santosh Kumar Sethi.

According to reports, three bike-borne assailants arrived near the residence of the victim and carried out the attack, targeting the corporator’s house.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the incident may have stemmed from old personal and business rivalries.

On being informed about the incident, Bada Bazar Police Station Officer-in-Charge, along with other senior officials, reached the spot and began examining CCTV footage from nearby locations.

Based on the visuals, police have reportedly identified the suspects and launched a manhunt to apprehend them.

However, no injuries were reported in the attack, but the incident has sparked concern among residents.

Security has been tightened in the area, and further investigation is underway to determine the motive and ensure accountability.
