Bhubaneswar, Oct 3: Bharatiya Janata Party's newly appointed Odisha in-charge D. Purandeswari arrived in Bhubaneswar on Saturday on a two-day visit, marking her first trip to the State after being entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing the party's affairs in Odisha.
Purandeswari, accompanied by BJP co-in-charge Swadesh Singh, is scheduled to hold a series of meetings with party leaders, organisational functionaries and ministers at the State BJP headquarters here as part of an extensive review of the party's organisational preparedness.
The visit assumes significance as the BJP seeks to strengthen its grassroots network ahead of the upcoming Panchayat and urban local body elections in the State.
According to party sources, Purandeswari is scheduled to first meet office-bearers at the State BJP headquarters, where she will interact with State BJP president Manmohan Samal and in-charges of the party's 37 organisational districts. Senior leaders, including State organisation secretary Manas Mohanty, will also be present during the deliberations.

✨The newly appointed in-charge is expected to assess the functioning of various organisational units and review strategies aimed at expanding the party's reach at the grassroots level.
Later in the day, Purandeswari will hold discussions with State’s
Ministers and legislators who have been assigned responsibilities as district in-charges. Party
sources said the deliberations would focus on reviewing organisational
activities, assessing grassroots outreach, and strengthening coordination
between the government and the party organisation.

She is also slated to meet the party's general secretaries and vice-presidents to discuss organisational matters and future strategies.
Political observers believe the discussions may include an assessment of the current political situation in Odisha and preparations for upcoming electoral challenges. Party leaders are also expected to receive guidance on strengthening booth-level and grassroots networks as the BJP seeks to consolidate its position across the State.
