Puri, Dec 3: The Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri will remain closed to devotees for five hours today due to the sacred Banakalagi Niti of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra.
According to reports, the Banakalagi Niti of the Holy Trinity will be performed between 5 PM to 10 PM tomorrow, following the completion of the second Bhog Mandap offering, during which the temple’s garbhagruha (inner sanctum) will remain closed to all outsiders to maintain the sanctity of the ritual.
As part of the tradition, the darshan will be stopped after the completion of the Dwitiya Bhogamandap ritual. After completion of the rituals, the doors of the temple will reopen, and devotees will once again be able to have darshan of the Lord.
