Odisha currently has 2,912 AYUSH doctors employed under NHM. This decision will cost the state exchequer nearly ₹1 crore annually.
Expressing confidence, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said that the move will not only motivate doctors but also enhance the quality of AYUSH healthcare services across Odisha.
In yet another boost for Odisha’s healthcare services, 250 new ‘108’ ambulances were flagged off. In a bid to strengthen emergency healthcare transport system, a total of 428 new ambulances are being introduced with an investment of around ₹111 crore.
Out of these, 150 ambulances had already been launched
earlier, and Tuesday’s addition of 250 more will further reinforce the state’s healthcare
services. These ambulances will serve as a reliable ‘lifeline’ for the people in
times of crisis.
