Titilagarh, Dec 7: The circumstances surrounding Ollywood singer Humane Sagar’s death grew more contentious on Sunday as actor Anubhav Mohanty met the singer’s family and said he has formally urged the state government to conduct a detailed investigation.

Mohanty, who led a tribute programme organised by the Odia film fraternity in Titilagarh, said he had submitted a written request to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi seeking a full inquiry. The event drew artistes, fans and local representatives and included floral tributes at the singer’s gravesite.

Speaking to reporters, Mohanty described Sagar as an artist who had endured significant personal and professional challenges. He said the family had expressed deep concerns over the circumstances leading to the 36-year-old singer’s death.

'Everything Will Come Out in the Probe'

Mohanty said the state government was treating the matter seriously and indicated that the investigation may bring several details to light.

“I may not be able to deliver justice, but I will fight for it,” he said. “Everyone involved will be held accountable. The Chief Minister has taken the matter seriously, and many things will be revealed soon.”

Responding to the surge of rumours following Sagar’s death, Mohanty declined to comment on unverified claims but said the statements being made publicly could aid investigators.

“In fact, many people have spoken things they may not even realise are important,” he said, referring indirectly to allegations that surfaced after the singer’s passing.

Mohanty met Sagar’s mother during his visit and assured the family that the industry would stand by them. He also reiterated the need for a transparent probe, noting Sagar had experienced intense pressure in his career.
