Bhubaneswar, Jun 17: Bhubaneswar witnessed a tragic incident on Tuesday when a young doctor from AIIMS, identified as Divya V from Karnataka, was found dead in her rented accommodation at Dumduma. She was serving as a junior resident at AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
According to police sources, Divya had been living with her male friend in the rented house. On Tuesday morning, while her friend left for duty, Divya remained alone.
Later in the day, when he returned, repeated calls to her went unanswered. After knocking several times without response, he broke open the door and discovered Divya hanging from the ceiling fan with a scarf.

The Khordha police immediately reached the spot and began investigation. The body has been seized and will undergo post‑mortem once her family arrives from Karnataka.

✨During the investigation, police recovered a suicide note near the body. In the note, Divya reportedly wrote that she had been suffering from a serious illness for the past two years and was enduring unbearable pain.
“I have been struggling for two years in agony, which is why I decided to end my life,” the note read.
Police are verifying the authenticity of the note and probing whether it was indeed written by Divya or if foul play was involved. Investigators are also examining the role of her male friend, though no conclusions have been drawn yet.
The incident has shocked the AIIMS Bhubaneswar fraternity. Divya’s colleagues expressed grief over the loss of a promising young doctor.
Authorities have assured a thorough investigation to uncover
the truth behind the suicide.
