Cuttack, Feb 9: Ollywood actor Satyaki Mishra on Monday alleged that he and his family received death threats amid an ongoing dispute over ancestral property and ownership of a business establishment in Cuttack.

The dispute pertains to the ownership of “Cuttack Students Store”, a well-known book publishing establishment in the city, where a prolonged family conflict has reportedly been continuing.

According to Satyaki Mishra’s complaint, his two elder uncles’ sons -- Sabyasachi Mishra and Soumitri Mishra -- are allegedly attempting to take control of the institution unlawfully.

Our source from the ground informed that on the evening of February 6, the accused allegedly entered Satyaki’s residence and verbally abused his 84-year-old father, Nrusingha Prasad Mishra. The actor further alleged that they issued threats to kill his father and behaved inappropriately with the women members of the household.

Satyaki Mishra said he had lodged a written complaint at Purighat police station regarding the incident. However, alleging that no stringent action had been taken against the accused, he met the Cuttack Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) on Monday seeking protection for his family and demanding appropriate legal action.

“Our family is living under fear. I have approached the DCP seeking security and justice,” Satyaki Mishra stated.

Our source from the ground said the matter is currently under the police’s attention.
