Bhubaneswar, Sept 8: Renowned Odia music director and singer Abhijit Majumdar, who is currently undergoing treatment at AIIMS Bhubaneswar, might be airlifted to AIIMS Delhi for further medical care.
The development was informed by Odisha Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling.
During a visit to AIIMS Bhubaneswar, Minister Mahaling held discussions with the hospital’s medical team regarding Majumdar’s condition.
Minister Mahaling confirmed that Majumdar’s condition has shown slight improvement compared to earlier days. Although he remains non-verbal and unconscious, some organ functions have resumed. Discussions are underway with AIIMS Delhi, and a separate expert team is likely to be formed to guide further treatment. If necessary, Majumdar might be airlifted to Delhi for advanced care.
The Odisha government has assured full support, including financial assistance and logistical coordination. “I will speak to the Chief Minister. All necessary help will be provided from the government’s side,” Mahaling stated.
