Bhubaneswar, Mar 27: As many as seven districts of Odisha may witness heavy rainfall in the next few hours, according to the India Meteorological Department's (IMD) regional centre.

According to the weather agency, a yellow warning has also been issued. The alert has been sounded for the districts of Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, and Kendrapara.

Residents have been advised to remain cautious, avoid open areas during lightning activity, and secure loose objects that could be blown away by strong winds.

The forecast further indicates that while weather conditions may become relatively normal on March 29 and 30, isolated places in Northern and coastal Odisha could still experience thunderstorms with lightning. The IMD has urged farmers and fishermen to take necessary precautions, as sudden changes in weather could affect agricultural activities and marine operations.

With the trough line persisting, Odisha is expected to see intermittent rainfall and thunderstorm activity over the coming days. Authorities have asked district administrations to remain alert and ensure public safety during this period of unstable weather.

On Thursday, Bhubaneswar witnessed heavy showers, bringing relief from the rising temperatures but also causing waterlogging in some areas.
