Bhubaneswar, Nov 5: Renowned sand artist Padma Shri Sudarsan Pattnaik has once again captured global attention by creating the world’s largest sand boat sculpture.

The massive sculpture features a traditional Boita (ancient Odia boat), built entirely from sand and decorated with 12,000 arecanuts (betel nuts) and coconut shells. Pattnaik also used oil lamps (diyas) to enhance the festive ambiance, symbolising the historic voyages of Odia traders to Southeast Asia.

Pattnaik’s creation not only celebrated the legacy but also sets a new world record for the largest sand Boita ever made.

The sand Boita has officially entered the record books for being the largest of its kind, drawing thousands of visitors and admirers.

Pattnaik’s meticulous use of natural materials and traditional symbolism has earned praise from art lovers and cultural historians alike.

This monumental tribute adds a new chapter to the celebration of Kartik Purnima, blending tradition, creativity, and global recognition.
