Bhubaneswar, Sep 5: In a major breakthrough under 'Operation Prahar', the Special Crime Unit of Bhubaneswar police arrested a drug peddler with 11 grams of brown sugar from the Tamando area in Bhubaneswar.
The accused has been identified as Pabitra Prusty.
Acting on reliable inputs, the officials of Special Crime Unit Of Odisha Police conducted a raid at Tomando area. During the raid, the officials seized 11 grams of brown sugar and Rs 82,000 in cash from the accused's possession. Mobile phone and other incriminating materials were also recovered from the accused.
Police officials stated that the arrest marks a significant success in their ongoing crackdown on narcotics trafficking in the capital region.
While a case has been registered under relevant sections of the NDPS Act, further investigation into the incident is underway to trace the supply chain and other individuals involved.
