Raipur, Nov 8: In a significant breakthrough for security forces, the Udanti Area Committee of the outlawed Maoist organisation has been fully dismantled following the surrender of its last seven members in Raipur.
The surrender took place in the presence of Inspector General Amresh Mishra.
The group, which had been active in insurgent activities across parts of Chhattisgarh, formally ceased to exist after the surrender.
The seven individuals—four women and three men—laid down arms before the Inspector General of Police in Raipur.
Among them was Sunil, the commander of the Udanti Area Committee, who carried a bounty of Rs 8 lakh on his head. His surrender marks a major success for security forces battling left-wing extremism in the region.
The surrendered Maoists handed over one SLR rifle, three INSAS rifles, and a single-shot firearm to the authorities.

Security officials have praised the development and reiterated their commitment to rehabilitation and reintegration of surrendered cadres into mainstream society.
