Train Accident At Chunar Station Claims Four Lives In UP's Mirzapur

Mirzapur, Nov 5: A tragic incident unfolded at Chunar railway station in Uttar Pradesh’s Mirzapur district, where four people were run over by a train after reportedly stepping down from the wrong side on Wednesday morning.

According to reports, the incident occurred at Chunar railway station after some passengers stepped down from a train from the wrong side and were trying to cross the main line. Meanwhile, Kalka-Howrah Express arrived in no time at high speed and hit some of the passengers at around 9:30 am. As a result, four people died on the spot.

The passengers had arrived at Chunar on the Chopan-Prayagraj Express. Following the incident, an inquiry has been ordered by the railway administration.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken cognizance of the accident and expressed condolences to the victims' families. He has also directed officials to reach the spot and expedite relief efforts.
