Bijapur, Nov 16: Three hardcore Maoists were gunned down in an encounter with security forces near the Bijapur-Dantewada border in Chhattisgarh.

Based on actionable intelligence, CRPF, DRG, and STF units swiftly mobilized for a high-stakes joint operation. During this, the red rebels opened fire on the security personnel.

The encounter broke out in the dense forest region along the Indravati River, a known Maoist stronghold.

According to officials, the gunfight broke out early in the morning and lasted several hours.

Security forces successfully neutralized three Maoist operatives, whose bodies have been recovered.

The operation is being hailed as a tactical success, with the forces establishing a strong presence in the area to prevent further insurgent activity.

In addition to the casualties, a large cache of Maoist materials and weapons was seized from the encounter site.

These include automatic rifles, explosives, and Maoist literature, indicating the group’s preparedness for a major strike.

The Superintendent of Police, Dantewada, confirmed the development and stated that further combing operations are underway to ensure complete control of the region.

This encounter marks another significant step in the ongoing efforts to dismantle Maoist networks in southern Chhattisgarh.
