Patna, Dec 9: In a shocking incident, six men disguised as policemen barged into the residence of government school teacher Sanjeev Kumar on Monday morning and looted jewellery worth nearly Rs 15 lakh.
According to police sources, the robbers arrived at Kumar’s
house in Telwa Bazaar posing as law enforcement officers conducting a routine
check. Once inside, they overpowered the family members and ransacked the
premises.
The gang fled with gold ornaments and other valuables before
neighbours could raise an alarm.
According to Kumar, the stolen ornaments had been kept aside for his daughter’s upcoming wedding.
Upon receiving the complaint, a team from Simratala police station rushed to the spot and began investigations. CCTV footage from the locality is being examined, and one of the cameras has captured clear visuals of the robbers’ getaway vehicle.

Station in-charge Dhananjay Kumar confirmed that the case is
being probed from all possible angles. He expressed confidence that the accused
would be identified and arrested soon, assuring that every effort is being made
to track down the culprits.

The incident has triggered widespread fear in the area. Disturbed by the audacity of the crime, residents gathered outside their homes demanding stronger police patrolling and immediate reinforcement of security measures.
Villagers voiced concern that criminals now appear emboldened enough to commit such offences in broad daylight.
