Key Points

Odisha will conduct a special statewide campaign from October 7 to 9 to enroll eligible voters omitted during SIR-2026 and register new voters aged 18 years by October 1, 2026. Applications can be submitted through Form-6 with assistance from Booth Level Officers.

Bhubaneswar, Oct 6: The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Odisha, will launch a three-day statewide special campaign from October 7 to facilitate the enrolment of eligible voters left out during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 and the registration of newly eligible young voters, as part of efforts to ensure a more accurate, inclusive and updated electoral roll in the state, officials said on Tuesday.

The initiative seeks to ensure that no eligible voter is deprived of franchise due to omission from the electoral roll during the revision exercise. The campaign will also focus on enrolling first-time voters who have attained or will attain 18 years of age by October 1, 2026.

Opportunity for youth voters

According to the CEO's office, eligible young voters can submit applications for inclusion in the electoral roll through Form-6 by contacting their respective Booth Level Officers (BLOs). Special arrangements have been made across the State to assist applicants in completing the registration process.

The campaign will also provide an opportunity to those eligible voters whose names could not be included in the final electoral roll during the SIR-2026 exercise due to any reason.

Transparent verification process

As part of efforts to maintain a clean and credible voter database, lists of deceased, shifted, absent and duplicate voters identified during the revision process will be uploaded on the CEO Odisha website as well as the websites of the respective district administrations.

Citizens will be able to verify these lists and file claims or objections if any eligible voter has been mistakenly excluded. The lists will also be shared with recognised political parties to facilitate independent verification and submission of necessary claims and objections.

BLOs trained for outreach

The CEO's office said Booth Level Officers across districts have been trained to assist excluded eligible voters and newly eligible youth voters. BLOs have been directed to provide guidance and support to ensure smooth registration and enrolment.

Eligible citizens have been urged to make use of the special campaign and submit Form-6 applications during October 7 to 9. Officials said the initiative aims to further strengthen the preparation of an inclusive, error-free and updated electoral roll in Odisha.
