Cupertino, Dec 2: Apple has announced a major leadership reshuffle in its artificial intelligence division, as it named Amar Subramanya as the company’s new Vice President of AI. He will succeed John Giannandrea, Apple’s Senior Vice President for Machine Learning and AI Strategy, who is stepping down after seven years at the helm.
Giannandrea, who joined Apple in 2018 from Google, played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s AI strategy, including the launch of Apple Intelligence earlier this year. He will continue as an advisor until his retirement in spring 2026.
Apple CEO Tim Cook praised Giannandrea’s contributions, noting his role in advancing machine learning and AI across Apple’s ecosystem.
