New Delhi, Dec 19: As many as 69 bullets have been recovered from the body of a man, who was brutally shot dead in South Delhi's Aya Nagar on November 30.
The victim has been identified as 52-year-old Rattan Lohia. He was shot dead in a violent fallout of a long-running fight between two families.
According to police, the incident occurred when Lohia was out of his home early morning to attend his routine work. Meanwhile, a group of assailants in a car surrounded him and opened fire. Lohia died on the spot from multiple gunshot wounds.
Following the incident, police reached the spot and recovered empty shells and three live cartridges. CCTV footage from nearby cameras were recovered and further probe was initiated.

As per the information provided by Rattan’s family, the recent shooting is suspected to have been carried out by Rambir Lohia and his relatives. The attack is believed to be an act of retaliation for the death of Rambir’s son, Arun.
On May 15, Arun was returning home in his car when two
assailants on a motorcycle opened fire, fatally wounding him. Following the
incident, police arrested Rattan’s elder son, Deepak, in connection with Arun’s
killing.

Family members allege that the latest shooting is directly linked to this earlier case, suggesting a cycle of revenge between the two families.
Authorities are investigating the matter further to
establish the motive and identify all those involved.
