Ayodhya, Jan 25: The Ram Lalla idol sculpted by Arun Yogiraj was selected by the temple trustees as the idol to be placed in the sanctum sanctorum of Ram mandir in Ayodhya. 

The black marble statue by Arun Yogiraj was selected but two other idols which gave a tough fight to the black marble statue were nonetheless in their beauty. This idol called as 'Balak Ram' was made from a three billion-year-old azure coloured Krishna Shile from Gujjegowdanapura village in Mysuru.  

Ram Lalla by Ganesh Bhatt

The one sculpted by  Ganesh Bhatt has been appreciated by the devotees after its photographs were released. A 51-inch long statue, it was carved from a dark stone called Krishna Shila from Mysuru's Hegadadevana Kote in Karnataka. Many have compared it with a five-year-old Ram Lalla as it bears uncanny resemble to a young boy.

However, good news is that, this statue will be placed somewhere within the temple precints, informed the Trust overseeing the Ram Mandir's affairs.

The other one that gave a potential competition for being worshipped in the garbha griha was designed by Satyanarayan Pandey. This idol was a white marble statue of Ram Lalla, adorned with jewellery and clothes. On the sides it has an arch where various incarnations of Lord Vishnu have found their place. This is in most likeliness planned to be installed in the first floor of Ram temple.
