Nashik, Apr 17: A woman employee of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in Nashik, Maharashtra has raised serious allegations of workplace harassment and misconduct.
The employee, who has been with the company for nearly six years, claims she was subjected to isolation and mental pressure after being transferred to the Nashik office.
In an interaction with NDTV, the employee said she was transferred to the Nashik Office and later made to work alone on a terrace away from the main office building.
She alleged that her phone and personal belongings were frequently taken away under the surveillance of security. She told that she was made to work alone on the rooftop, and her phone and bag were confiscated. Even when she came downstairs, her belongings would be taken away, she added.
The employee further claimed that several young women working in the office were being targeted and exploited. According to her, women in the age group of 20 to 25 were treated as soft targets.
"We saw many young employees being brainwashed. It felt like a pattern," she said adding that even approaching the HR seemed under pressure, she alleged.
Recalling her experience, she said, Thank God I survived. Otherwise, the same thing could have happened to me.
Her family, she said, remains deeply concerned about her safety following the revelations. She also urged other working women to speak up against what she described as a toxic and fearful work environment.
In a separate claim, another contractual employee alleged that certain staff members encouraged religious influence and inappropriate interactions, including pressuring employees in personal matters.
Meanwhile, police have registered multiple complaints related to the case, including allegations of harassment and coercion. A special investigation team has been formed to look into this matter.
Severe employees have already been arrested in connection with the case, while others have been suspended pending inquiry.
