New Delhi, Sep 20: In a powerful and tragic final social media post, Mohammed Nizamuddin, the 32-year-old software engineer from Telangana, who was fatally shot by Santa Clara police on September 3, detailed an extensive allegations of racial discrimination and workplace harassment he had endured.
Before his death, Nizamuddin took to his LinkedIn profile and wrote, "Today I decide to raise my voice against all odds. Enough is enough; white supremacy/racist white American mentality has to end."
In his comprehensive post, he outlined what he described as systematic persecution, including workplace harassment, torture, wage fraud, wrongful termination, and obstruction of justice. This highlights his struggles with racial hatred and discrimination.
Nizamuddin had been struggling with unemployment for a year and a half before his death. He claimed that he faced racial hostility and an "unacceptable environment" at his previous company.
He specifically alleged salary fraud, stating he was not paid fairly according to standard wage levels and his employment was wrongfully terminated. The ill treatment did not just end there it further went on to continued harassment, discrimination and intimidating behaviour with the help of a racist detective and team.
Nizamuddin further claimed the harassment continued beyond his termination, escalating to include food poisoning and eviction from his residence. He identified his "main aggressors" as "colleagues, employer, client, detective, and their community altogether."
Warning that "it can happen to anyone tomorrow," Nizamuddin called for global attention to demand justice against those involved in his oppression. Though he uploaded 19 supporting documents with his post, he never made the additional follow-up post he promised.
