Gorakhpur, Nov 2: Dr. S.P. Mohanty, Managing Director of Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited (HURL), called on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, to review the performance of HURL’s Gorakhpur unit and discuss the supply of Urea, DAP, and phosphatic fertilizers across the state, officials said on Sunday.


According to the sources, the Chief Minister lauded HURL’s contribution to agricultural development and emphasized the importance of continued efforts toward farmer empowerment and sustainable growth. The meeting reaffirmed HURL’s alignment with the national vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, ensuring timely access to quality inputs for farmers across India’s heartland.


Gorakhpur Unit: A Fertilizer Powerhouse

HURL’s Gorakhpur plant is a state-of-the-art, gas-based facility producing approximately 3,850 metric tonnes of urea daily, totaling 12.70 lakh metric tonnes annually. Strategically located in eastern Uttar Pradesh, the unit plays a vital role in reducing import dependence and supporting millions of farmers with affordable and timely fertilizer access.


Notably, the Gorakhpur unit is among the most energy-efficient urea plants in India, reflecting HURL’s commitment to sustainability and modern technology.
