Nuapada, Oct 18: A huge cache of Maoist materials were seized from Baludigi forest under Menpur police limits in Nuapada district bordering Chhattisgarh.
Based on credible intelligence regarding the movement of Maoist insurgents in the region, a coordinated search operation was initiated by personnel from the 65th Battalion of the CRPF stationed at Kulhadighat, CRPF forces from Bindranwagarh, and the district police.
During the operation, the security personnel found several Maoist materials including magazine pouches, medicines, folding chairs, tarpaulin sheets, and various other supplies.
The anti-Naxal campaign in the Baludigi forest has led to the downfall of several prominent Maoist leaders.
Reportedly, several prominent Maoist operatives were believed to be involved in activities opposing anti-Naxalite operations within the Bhaludigi forest.

In recent weeks, hundreds of Maoist cadres have laid down arms, marking a significant turning point in India’s decades-long battle against Left Wing Extremism (LWE).
On October 17, 2025, a staggering 208 Naxalites surrendered in Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh. The group included 98 men and 110 women, many of whom were active members of the banned CPI (Maoist).
Just days earlier, on October 15, 50 Maoist cadres, including two Special Zonal Committee Members—Rajman Mandavi and Raju Salam—surrendered at the BSF 40 Battalion camp in Kamtera, Koyalibeda.
