Anmol, one of India's most-wanted organised crime fugitives, is expected to land in Delhi on Wednesday after being "removed" from American soil.
New Delhi, Nov 19: In a significant breakthrough for Indian investigative agencies, Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of incarcerated gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, has been deported from the United States.
Anmol, one of India's most-wanted organised crime fugitives, is expected to land in Delhi on Wednesday after being "removed" from American soil.
The development was confirmed by the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in a communication to the family of slain NCP leader Baba Siddique.
A screenshot of the DHS email stated: “This email is to inform you that ANMOL BISHNOI has been removed from the United States… The offender was removed on November 18, 2025.”
Anmol, a native of Punjab’s Fazilka district, had been on the run since fleeing India on a forged passport in 2021. Investigators tracked his movement through Nepal, Dubai, and Kenya before he eventually reached the US. His arrest earlier this year triggered the deportation process.
According to reports, the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement took Anmol into custody for his fake passport, and he was lodged in Pottawattamie County jail, Iowa.
Zeeshan Siddique, the son of the murdered NCP leader and a former Congress lawmaker, confirmed the family's active role in the case.
“After learning that Anmol Bishnoi was in the United States, we registered as victims of crime (commissioned by him as per Mumbai police) with various departments of the United States," Zeeshan stated.
“We want the Mumbai Police to arrest and question him to find the motive behind my father’s killing and also in the firing outside actor Salman Khan’s residence. Anmol is an Indian citizen, so he should be brought back to India. He is a threat to society.”
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has declared Anmol Bishnoi ‘most wanted’ with a reward of ₹10 lakh for information. He faces at least 18 criminal cases in India.
These include the conspiracy to murder former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, who was shot dead in Mumbai in October 2024, and the firing outside actor Salman Khan’s Bandra home in April 2024. His connection to the May 2022 killing of Punjabi rapper Sidhu Moose Wala makes it one of his most notable cases.
A senior NIA official, speaking on condition of anonymity, stated that Anmol functioned as Lawrence Bishnoi’s principal overseas agent, directing extortion rackets and coordinating assignments.

“His presence abroad helped the syndicate build links with criminal groups across West Asia, East Africa and North America. With his deportation confirmed, we are now preparing to take his formal custody,” the officer added.
The NIA has claimed that Anmol Bishnoi, along with Goldy Brar, raised funds for criminal activities through drug and weapon smuggling, extortion, and targeted killings.
The duo is also said to be in continual touch with pro-Khalistan elements based in Canada, the US, and other countries. His deportation is expected to provide crucial details about the Bishnoi syndicate's global operations and redirect multiple ongoing investigations into terrorism, murder and extortion.
