Gurugram, Jan 20: A government doctor has been arrested in Gurugram after allegedly running his SUV over a Swiggy delivery agent on Monday night. Police said the accused, identified as Dr. Naveen Yadav, an Ayurveda practitioner posted at a primary health centre in Daulatabad, was allegedly drunk at the time of the incident.


The victim, 28-year-old Tinku Panwar, was rushed to the civil hospital in Gurugram with injuries. Authorities have seized Yadav’s black Scorpio SUV involved in the incident.


The incident occurred in Sector 93, Hayatpur, near a Swiggy warehouse.


Investigators said the accused was annoyed by the frequent presence of delivery agents in the area. Police allege that Yadav deliberately hit Panwar with his vehicle and, when confronted, repeatedly ran him over.

CCTV footage reportedly shows the SUV turning right and striking a bike parked under a tree, injuring the delivery agent. Witnesses said that when other delivery agents protested, the driver reversed the vehicle and attempted to run over them, crushing several bikes before fleeing the scene.


Police have registered a case of attempted murder against Yadav, and further investigation is underway.
