Bhubaneswar, Oct 29: Senior BJP leader and Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi following his controversial remarks about the Chhat Puja and Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a rally in Bihar.
Pradhan, who is also the BJP’s election in-charge for the upcoming Bihar
Assembly polls, demanded public apology from Rahul Gandhi for his “disgraceful”
remarks.

Dharmendra Pradhan’s Strong Rebuttal
In a post on X, Pradhan said Gandhi’s statement reflects his “hatred towards Sanatan culture” and exposes the Congress party’s deep-rooted “frustration and animosity” towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He further alleged that Gandhi’s comments stem from “feudal thinking, political desperation, and fear of defeat.”
Pradhan also criticized the INDIA bloc, including Tejashwi
Yadav, for promoting “jungle raj” and ignoring the aspirations of Bihar’s poor,
farmers, women, and youth. He claimed that the opposition’s use of “indecent
language” is a sign of their impending electoral loss.

Calling for accountability, Minister Pradhan demanded that
Rahul Gandhi issue a public apology to the people of Bihar and the nation for
his “disgraceful” remarks. He emphasized that Bihar’s citizens seek development
and good governance—not dynastic politics and divisive rhetoric.
“Rahul Gandhi should
publicly apologise to the people of Bihar and the country for this insulting
and utterly disgraceful statement regarding the great festival of Chhath and
Prime Minister Modi, which crosses all boundaries of decorum,” Pradhan said.

Rahul Gandhi’s Remarks on PM Modi
Addressing a public meeting in Sakra constituency of
Muzaffarpur, LoP Rahul Gandhi accused PM Modi of prioritizing votes over public
welfare. “Modi is not concerned about anything except votes. If you tell him to
dance on stage and promise votes, he will start dancing,” Gandhi said.
The Congress leader further alleged that during Chhath,
while devotees bathed in the Yamuna River, PM Modi used a private swimming pool
built for himself, showing disregard for Bihar’s cultural sentiments.
Political Fallout
Rahul Gandhi’s remarks on the sacred Chhat Puja and Prime Minister Modi have triggered a political uproar, with several BJP and NDA leaders across states demanding an apology and accusing the Congress leader of disrespecting public sentiment.
