Bhubaneswar, Jun 18: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday lauded India’s growing global academic presence after 52 institutions featured in the latest QS World University Rankings, with 13 securing places among the Global Top 550.

In a post on X, Pradhan said the achievement reflects the strength of India’s higher education ecosystem and the dedication of its institutions, faculty, researchers, and students. He emphasized that a robust and globally competitive education system is central to India’s resolve of building a “Viksit Bharat” by 2047.

Pradhan credited the transformative reforms under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for enabling India’s steady emergence as a global hub of knowledge and innovation. “Together, we will continue to strengthen India’s journey towards becoming a global knowledge powerhouse,” he remarked while congratulating the institutions that made the nation proud.

Notably, IIT Delhi emerged as India’s highest-ranked institution at 118th globally, while IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, and IIT Madras secured places among the world’s Top 200 universities. In total, 14 Indian universities found a place among the Global Top 500, underscoring the country’s rising stature in teaching, research, innovation, employability, and international collaboration.
