Bhopal, Jun 13: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday said the 12-year journey of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government stands as a successful example of service, good governance and welfare-oriented development, while highlighting the Centre's focus on empowering women, youth, farmers and the poor.

During his visit to Bhopal, Pradhan participated in several programmes, interacted with public representatives and addressed the media on the achievements of the Modi government over the past 12 years. He attended the ‘Atmanirbhar Mahila Samman’ programme and ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp: Towards a Developed India’, where discussions centred on women's empowerment, inclusive development and the vision of a developed India.
Speaking to journalists, Pradhan said the government's development model has been guided by the principles of trust, inclusive growth and public welfare.

“The journey has been dedicated to strengthening the resolve of service and good governance while taking every section of society along,” he said.

Focus on Welfare Schemes
The minister highlighted flagship schemes such as PM Awas Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, Jan Dhan Yojana, Lakhpati Didi, PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, Ayushman Bharat and Startup India, saying these initiatives have placed the poor, farmers, women and youth at the centre of governance.

He said women-led development has emerged as a key pillar of India's growth story, with women increasingly playing leadership roles in economic and social transformation.

Interaction With Self-Help Groups
At the ‘Atmanirbhar Mahila Samman’ programme, Pradhan interacted with women from self-help groups and beneficiaries of the 'Lakhpati Didi' initiative.
Pradhan visited exhibitions showcasing products prepared by women entrepreneurs and praised their efforts, creativity and self-confidence.

According to an official statement, he described the reuse of temple waste to create useful products as an inspiring example of cleanliness and self-reliance. He also referred to the Centre's GOBARdhan Yojana, which promotes converting waste into resources while supporting environmental protection and sanitation.

New Education and Skill Initiatives
Pradhan announced that new initiatives would be launched in collaboration with the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) to expand access to education and skill development opportunities for Lakhpati Didis.

He further said premier institutions, including the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), would be associated with the initiative to help women gain entrepreneurial and management skills.

Meeting With Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister
During the visit, Pradhan also held a courtesy meeting with Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. The two leaders discussed issues related to education, skill development and youth empowerment in the state.
The minister said both the Centre and the Madhya Pradesh government remain committed to creating new opportunities for young people and encouraging their participation in nation-building.

He also interacted with corporators at Bhopal Municipal Corporation's newly built headquarters, 'Atal Bhawan', and called for greater adoption of piped natural gas to support energy efficiency and environmental conservation.

Pradhan said India is steadily progressing towards the goal of Viksit Bharat 2047 under the vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas”, adding that women's participation would remain central to the country's development journey.
