New Delhi, Oct 4: Delhi Police successfully recovered a seven-year-old boy who was allegedly kidnapped by his mother’s former live-in partner in an attempt to force her into reconciliation.
The incident, which unfolded on September 28, has led to the arrest of four individuals, including the main accused, Ajay Verma.
Verma, 24, a mobile repair technician from Hansi, Haryana, had previously been in a live-in relationship with the boy’s mother. After the relationship turned abusive, the woman moved back to Delhi with her son, following a divorce from her previous marriage. Verma, reportedly unable to accept the separation, conspired to abduct the child with help from three associates.
The accomplices were identified as Amit (18), a tent house worker; Sachin (20), employed at a PVC factory; and Ajay (20), a sweeper from Vikaspuri, Delhi. While Amit and Sachin hail from Hisar, Ajay was based in Delhi and was allegedly contacted via social media to procure a firearm.

The boy’s mother filed a missing complaint at Vikaspuri Police Station after he failed to return from school. CCTV footage revealed two individuals abducting the child on a motorcycle. Despite the accused frequently switching off their phones, police tracked them using technical surveillance and social media monitoring.
Ajay from Vikaspuri was the first to be apprehended. His interrogation led police to a farm in Hansi, where Verma was hiding with the child and two accomplices. A swift raid resulted in the boy’s safe recovery and the arrest of Verma, Amit, and Sachin. Ajay was arrested separately, and a pistol was recovered from his residence, prompting a separate case under the Arms Act.
Police confirmed that except for Sachin, who has a prior
Arms Act case, the others had no criminal history. The investigation continues
under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
